Booth garners all-region honors, secures spot at nationals
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Senior Teghan Booth delivered a standout performance at the NCAA Midwest Region Championships, running a personal-best time of 22:03.1 to secure her second career all-region honor and a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship field.
Booth crossed the finish line in 12th place, Simpson's highest individual finish since 2010 when Catie Ellingson claimed second. She will compete at the national meet next Saturday in Terra Haut, Ind.
"What a day for Teghan Booth", said head coach Heath Moenck. "After narrowly missing the NCAA Championships a year ago, to see her punch her ticket was very gratifying. She's invested so much into this program, and it will be great to have her represent Simpson College on the national stage. Our entire women's program had a terrific season with lots to be proud of."
Kate Huisinga and Angel Schewe both ran personal-best times as well as Simpson finished 15th as a team.
