Storm compete in Dr. Tucker Invite for A-R-C Championship tune-up

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Simpson College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Dr. Tucker Invitational, hosted by Loras, for their final tune-up before the American Rivers Conference Championships next week.

The duo of Spencer Moon and Max Cleveland recorded first-place finishes for the Storm. Moon climbed into third all-time in program histor in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:54.02, two seconds off his previous best. Cleveland sprinted to gold in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.28 seconds.

Jamie Glanz competed in six events to lead the Simpson women. She ended third in the high jump (1.48 meters), fourth in the javelin (28.51 meters) and eighth in the long jump (4.62 meters) to highlight her day.

Craig Garrison raced to fourth in the 200 with a career-best time of 22.21 seconds. Ryan Courtney and Harry Dudley finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1,500 to add a couple more top-five honors for the squad.

The 4x400-meter relay of Katelyn Mangold, Abby Loecke, Audrey Arnold and Glanz captured third in 4:27.39. Sophie Hall paced the women in the 1,500 meters to cross the finish in seventh.

Mason Spree hurled the shot put 13.69 meters for fourth and muscled his way to fifth place in the hammer throw (44.46 meters).

Up Next
The A-R-C Championships begin this coming Thursday at the University of Dubuque. Action will run through Saturday.
