Hall leads Simpson women at Dubuque Triangular

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Junior Sophie Hall highlighted the Simpson College women's track and field team's first showing of the season on Saturday with a first-place performance at the Dubuque Triangular.

Hall raced to first in the 3,000-meters with a time of 11:41.22 in just her first time competing in the event. Junior Kyli Orr and freshman Ashley Rockhold finished behind their teammate with second and third-place showings, respectively.

Junior Abby Loecke (2:33.30) and freshman Kaya Young (2:38.12) grabbed the Storm's remaining top-three placings by coming in second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter race. Junior Cat Lucht ended fourth in the event.

Freshman Audrey Arnold had a pair of top-five finishes in her first career meet for Simpson. Arnold had a time of 9.39 in the 55-meter hurdles and leaped 4.90 meters in the long jump. Arnold just missed out on another fifth-place result with a time of 29.25 to end sixth in the 200-meters.
