Minette, 400 yard freestyle relay earn all-conference honors
DECORAH, Iowa - The Simpson College women's swimming and diving team saw two all-conference performances on the final day of the American Rivers Conference Championships.
Junior standout Kate Minette was at the forefront for the Storm once again, earning her fourth career all-conference honor with a second-place finish in the 100 yard freestyle.
Minette then joined up with familiar relay teammates Keelin Curley, Katie Oosterhuis, and Breana Hinson to set a new school record in the 400 yard freestyle relay as the team finished in third for all-conference honors.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Minette swam a time of 54.18 in the 100 yard freestyle, coming just .02 off her school record.
- The 400 relay team also lowered their previous record by over two seconds, clocking a time of 3:44.30.
- Minette earned her fifth all-conference honor as a Storm relay team earned an all-conference honor for the first time since the conference switched to an official championship meet.
- Breana Hinson lowered her career-best in the 100 yard freestyle by almost a second with a time of 57.06.
