200 medley relay team breaks school record

DECORAH, Iowa - The Simpson College women's swimming and diving team saw another relay record go down at the American Rivers Conference Championships, with the 200 yard medley relay team breaking the previous mark.

The same four swimmers (Keelin Curley, Katie Oosterhuis, Breana Hinson, and Kate Minette) that broke the 200 freestyle relay record last night also teamed up to take down another school record, albeit with Curley swimming the opening leg this time around.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The team clocked a time of 1:56.47, beating the previous time of 1:56.71 set in the 2021-22 season.
• Minette qualified for the A-Final in the 200 yard freestyle swimming a season-best time of 2:05.21 in the prelims, taking sixth in the final.
• Hinson and Oosterhuis qualified for the B-Final in the 100 yard butterfly, with Hinson setting a new season-best time of 1:04.19.
• Oosterhuis also qualified for the A-Final in the 100 yard breaststroke, taking sixth in the event.
• The senior clocked a new career best in the prelims with a time of 1:15.26.
