Simpson faces off with Coe on Senior Day

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson women's swimming and diving team faced off with Coe on the team's Senior Day.

Katie Oosterhuis was honored by the program for her contributions to the Storm program. "Katie almost matched her best 100 fly time and her 100 breaststroke today," said Storm head coach Adam Cveitch. "She's been putting in a lot of extra work on both, having just won our team's MVP award on Monday and we are excited and ready for her conference meet."

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oosterhuis won the 100 yard breaststroke on her Senior Day in a time of 1:16.32.
  • Kate Minette took the gold in both the 50 yard freestyle (26.12) and the 100 yard freestyle (57.35).
  • Layne Flynn set career-bests in the above events with times of 38.71 and 1:26.92, respectively.
  • Breana Hinson also set a season-best in the 50 yard freestyle, clocking a time of 27.03.
  • Katelyn Smith dropped six seconds off her career-best in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:37.38.
