Storm complete weekend at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - The Simpson College women's swimming and diving team completed its weekend on the second day of the Grinnell Invite.

Multiple Storm swimmers made the final in various events, highlighted by Kate Minette winning the C-Final in the 50 yard freestyle. Katie Oosterhuis and Keelin Curley also qualified for the final in the event, while Breana Hinson took third in the 100 yard butterfly C-Final.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Minette swam a 26.02 in the 50 yard freestyle final, defeating second place by 0.28 seconds.
  • Oosterhuis (26.73) and Curley (27.04) also competed in the final, with Curley also swimming a 26.82 in the prelims.
  • Hinson clocked a time of 1:05.98 to take third in the 100 yard butterfly C-Final.
  • Katelyn Smith swam a 1:26.14 in the 100 yard breaststroke, just .01 seconds off her career best.
  • The team garnered 126 total points to take eighth place.
