Storm women wrap up day 1 at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - The Simpson College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the first day of competition at the Grinnell Invite on Friday evening.

Multiple Storm swimmers qualified for finals in various events, highlighted by Kate Minette winning the C-Final in the 100 yard individual medley.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Minette swam a prelim time of 1:12.71 in the 100 yard IM before winning the C-Final in a time of 1:10.33.
  • Breana Hinson competed in the B-Final of the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:09.35.
  • Minette was joined by Katelyn Smith, Katie Oosterhuis, and Keelin Curley in the 400 yard medley relay, swimming a time of 4:44.68, the team's second-best this season.
  • Curley also led the team in the 100 yard freestyle, swimming a time of 57.60 in the prelims.
  • Curley's final time of 58.38 was also the second-fastest among Storm swimmers.
  • Smith lowered her 200 yard individual medley personal best by around six seconds, swimming a 2:43.96.
