Reusche earns CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition
INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Simpson senior softball player Kayla Reusche has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 Softball First Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Reusche is one of 14 players that received recognition to the District 8 First Team, which includes student-athletes of NCAA Division III institutions from 21 states and Canada and will now be put on the ballot for the Academic All-America squad.
The infielder from Waverly, Iowa, Reusche batted .280 in her last season for the Storm with career highs of 30 hits, 15 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, 10 RBIs, four doubles, one triple and a .336 slugging percentage. Off the field, she maintained a 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in psychology with minors in public relations and criminal justice.
To be nominated for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have achieved sophomore status and be enrolled for a full year at their current institution and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions as a key contributor during the current season.
