Adeniyi, Storm earn USTFCCAA All-Academic recognition
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Simpson men's and women's track and field teams earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team recognition for the 16th year in a row. Sam Adeniyi tallied the lone All-Academic Athlete honor, the USTFCCCA announced Thursday.
The Storm men compiled a grade-point average of 3.28 and the women boosted a 3.38 GPA. There were 150 men's programs and 209 women's teams honored for their academic prowess.
As a computer science and computer information systems major, Adeniyi finished his career at Simpson with a 3.80 GPA. The Roseville, Minnesota native won the heptathlon at the American Rivers Conference Championships to place in the top 30 in the event among NCAA Division III competitors, which met the criteria for this accolade.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have at least one of the following athletic standards competed in an NCAA Indoor Championship; finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
