Simpson enters A-R-C Indoor Track and Field Championships
INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson track and field teams will travel to Luther on Friday and Saturday for the American Rivers Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Competition begins on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Regents Center in Decorah, Iowa. To capture all-conference honors, a participant must place in the top three in their respective event to garner the accolade.
The Storm men enter the event slated No. 8 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Region standings. Along with Simpson, five other A-R-C teams are ranked in the top 10, with three programs filling out the top-five spots. For the women, four teams are in the top-10 as Wartburg and Loras are first and second, respectively.
Craig Garrison sits in the top five in the 60 and 200-meter dashes among league competitors. Spencer Moon is currently seventh in the conference in the mile, but the field is only split by a few seconds.
Katie Murano is leading the women by sitting 20th in the 5,000 meters. Mackenzie Laughlin is 21st in the mile and will look to move up the pack this weekend.
