Storm duo medal at conference individual tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The duo of Korynna Olson and Anna Schewe medaled for the Simpson College women's tennis team at the American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament this weekend.

Olson and Schewe competed in the Flight C doubles bracket, where they were one of eight teams receiving a bye into the quarterfinals. The duo won its first match by a score of 6-4, but fell in the semifinals. However, Olson and Schewe rebounded to take down the other losing semi finalists from Central to claim the bronze medal.

Elsewhere, Bella Tranquilino won her first round match in the Flight A singles bracket, taking the match 4-0, 4-2 over Central's Jennifer Larson. Savana Walls advanced to the quarterfinals of the Flight B singles bracket, while Coilee Hynek also picked up a win in the Flight C Singles competition.

The Storm concluded its fall season and will resume action back in the Spring.
