Storm drop conference tilt against Prairie Wolves

URBANDALE, Iowa - After a four-hour weather delay, the Simpson College women's tennis team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan in conference play.

The match was originally delayed to inclement weather, but after no signs of it letting up, the match was shifted indoors to Urbandale after a long delay.

The Prairie Wolves (2-2, 2-2 A-R-C) came out hot in doubles, taking the No. 3 spot by a score of 8-2 to claim the first point of the match. Despite resistance from the Storm (1-4, 1-3 A-R-C), the Prairie Wolves ended up winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matches in doubles to earn a 3-0 lead going into singles.

Due to the late start time because of the delay, the match was going to be played until one team had a majority, or five total points. The Prairie Wolves got wins in straight sets at No. 2 and No. 4 singles to win the match by a score of 5-0, with the other four singles matches going unfinished.
