Fisher powers Storm to sweep on final day in Michigan

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Riley Fisher led the way at the plate and in the circle, going 4-for-5 with her bat while earning a win and a save with her arm as the Simpson softball team beat Concordia (Wis.) and Wis.-Superior on the final day of the 2016 Finlandia Dome Tournament at Northern Michigan University's Superior Dome.

Fisher drove in two runs and earned the save in Simpson's 6-5 win over Concordia in the opener. She homered and doubled in the nightcap, going the distance in an 8-0, 5-inning win over Superior.

The Storm (5-2) are off until the Rebel Spring Games get underway on March 4 in Winter Haven, Fla.

Simpson 6, Concordia 5
Simpson had to come from behind, then hold on in the bottom of the seventh. Down 3-1, Fisher hit a two-run single to tie the game in the fourth. Brianna Chaplin hit a two-run bomb - her third homer of the weekend - to give the Storm a 5-3 lead in the sixth. Arianna Kim drove in what would be the winning run on a groundout in the sixth. Maggie Long earned the win in relief of Kaytlyn Ernst and Fisher got the final four outs for her second save. Tori Haag homered to lead off the game.

Simpson 8, Superior 0
Fisher and Taylor Davis homered and Haag drove in two as Simpson rolled to a five-inning win. Fisher tossed a complete-game two-hitter as she didn't allow a runner past second base.
