Haag named to Academic All-District Team

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Junior softball player Tori Haag has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8® First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A catcher from Waukee, Iowa, Haag earns the honor for the first time in her career. As a first team selection, she advances to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second, and third team All-Americans will be selected later this month.

Haag owns a 3.83 cumulative grade point average in Global Management and has been named to the Dean's List (3.7/4.0) five times in five full semesters. The two-sport standout is a two-time all-Iowa Conference performer on the diamond, earning second team honors in 2015. She is also a key member of the swimming and diving team.

In addition to directing one of the conference's top pitching staffs, Haag hit .384 in 2015 and led the Storm in home runs (10), RBIs (37) and extra-base hits (18). She helped the Storm to a 16-0 start and a No. 10 ranking in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Poll. The Storm went 31-12 overall, finished third in the Iowa Conference and earned a berth in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship. Simpson finished as the runner up at the Bloomington Regional, going 2-2.
