Haag, McKim named February Student-Athletes of the Month

Tori Haag shined in the pool and on the softball diamond and Kyle McKim won a conference title in swimming as the duo earned Student-Athlete of the Month honors for February 2015.

A junior from Waukee, Iowa, Haag began the month in the pool, breaking a 13-year old school record in the 200 IM at the Liberal Arts Championships in her first season of competitive swimming since high school. On the softball diamond, Haag hit .542 with five home runs and 14 RBIs as Simpson opened the season with a 6-0 start at the Finlandia Dome Tournament. In the season opener against Wis.-Superior she went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.

A junior swimmer from Boone, Iowa, McKim won a second-straight Iowa Conference title in the 100 breaststroke, placing fifth overall at the Liberal Arts Championships. His fifth-place effort was the Storm's top finish at the season-ending meet. He broke his own school record in the event, touching the wall in 1:00.20 in the preliminaries. He also set a new school mark in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.84).
