Simpson's first-round game moved up
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – In an effort to avoid impending thunderstorms, the Simpson softball team's first round NCAA Division III Championship contest against Anderson (Ind.) has been moved up to a 10:30 a.m. start on Friday.
The game was originally scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with host Illinois Wesleyan and Alma to follow. The second game will now start at 1 p.m.
Simpson is making its 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2010 after qualifying with an at-large berth. The Storm (29-10) are the No. 2 seed in the region.
