Joslyn named to Capital One Academic All-America Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Simpson men's soccer player Louis Joslyn has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team®, as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A junior midfielder from Baldwin, Kan., Joslyn took home second team honors to become Simpson's first Academic All-American since 2002. He is just the second individual to earn the award in the program's history.

Double-majoring in mathematics and computer science, Joslyn owns a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He has been named to the President's List (4.0) in each of his four full semesters and is a two-time, Capital One First Team Academic All-Disitrct honoree.

On the field, Joslyn was a team captain and an Honorabe Mention all-Iowa Conference performer in 2014. He started all 21 games for the Storm and scored four goals, each of which was a game-winner. In all he took 12 shots, putting six on goal.

Joslyn is one of just two individuals representing Iowa Conference institutions to make the team. Sam Koenig of Loras was a third-team pick.

Simpson's last men's soccer Academic All-American was Brian Mann, who earned third team honors in 2000 and 2001 and was a second-team pick in 2002.
