Joslyn earns Academic All-Distirct honors for second time

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson men's soccer player Louis Joslyn landed a spot on the 2014 NCAA Division III Capital One Academic All-District 8® First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Director of America (CoSIDA).

Joslyn was also a first-team selection in 2013, and now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second, and third team All-America honors will be selected in November.

A junior midfielder from Baldwin, Kan., Joslyn owns a perfect 4.00 grade point average as a mathematics and computer science double major. In his second year as a captain, Joslyn has started all 20 games for the 12-8 Storm. He ranks fourth on the team with four goals scored, all of which have been game-winners.

In the classroom, Joslyn has been named to the President's List (4.0) in each of his four full semesters.

Joslyn was one of 11 members to make the District 8 Team, which is made up NCAA Division III schools in 21 states and Canada. The Iowa Conference had a total of four representatives on the team, including Sam Koenig (Loras), Kyle Sprain (Wartburg) and Zubeen Azari (Wartburg).

With the regular season schedule complete, Simpson opens Iowa Conference Tournament play at Dubuque on Saturday, Nov. 1. The fifth-seeded Storm will take on the fourth-seeded Spartans at 3 p.m.
