Michelsen named Second Team Academic All-District

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson men's soccer player Bryan Michelsen earned a spot on the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District VIII Men's Soccer Second Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Friday.

Michelsen, a senior midfielder from Indianola, Iowa, achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.71 while majoring in mathematics. He is a four-year letterwinner and started in all but four of 68 games during his career. He was a three-time Academic All-Iowa Conference selection.

To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
