Storm fall to league-champion Luther

DECORAH, Iowa - The Simpson men's soccer team closed the regular season with a 5-0 loss to Luther on Saturday.

With the win, the No. 24 Norse (14-2-1, 7-0 Iowa Conference) clinched the Iowa Conference title.

James Garcia-Prats scored the first goal of the game and assisted on three more. Jonathan Lawson and Adam Dane also scored in the first half, giving Luther a 3-0 lead at halftime.

The Storm (8-9-1, 5-3) managed only five shots against the stingy Luther backline. Despite the loss, Simpson will go into the IIAC Tournament with the No. 3 seed and will host a game on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Buxton Stadium.

First-year head coach Rick Isaacson and the Storm completed a three-game conference turnaround from last season, when Simpson missed out on the postseason.

Luke Aronow made four saves in goal for Simpson.

Simpson's opponent for Saturday's game is yet to be determined.
