Reinert named IIAC Player of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Simpson junior men's soccer player Jeremy Reinert earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 1, the conference office announced Monday.
Reinert, a junior midfielder from Indianola, Iowa, scored the game-winner with six seconds left in Simpson's dramatic 2-1, double-overtime win over Dubuque on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Freshman Mitchell White started a counter attack after a Dubuque corner kick with 25 seconds left, went the length of the field and left a feed for Reinert. Reinert finished the run, giving the Storm three crucial points in the conference standings.
Reinert leads the team with two game-winners on the year and is second with five goals.
The Storm return to action this week when they host Cornell on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m.
