STORM LAKE, Iowa – No. 24 Buena Vista scored six runs between the fifth and sixth to break a 1-1 deadlock and hand the Simpson College baseball team a 7-1 loss in the series opener.
Zach Fuller knotted up the game in the second inning with a base hit to left field, scoring Lucas Juhl from second. The game remained tied until midway through the contest when the Beavers pulled away with a trio of extra-base hits including RBI triples from the brother duo of Drew and Evan Taylor.
Buena Vista (28-6, 19-2) captured its second straight and 18th overall American Rivers Conference regular season title with the win.
