#StormTop10 Individual Performances No. 5: Beem saves best for last

#StormTop10 Individual Performances No. 5: Beem saves best for last

One of the top running backs in a long-line of great Simpson ball carriers, Jordan Beem saved the best performance of his accomplished career for Senior Day.

In a season marred by injury, Beem ran for a career-high 227 yards in a 47-29 loss to Iowa Conference champion Coe on Nov. 12. The senior joined a fraternity of elite Simpson running backs that day, becoming just the fifth player in school history to reach the 3,000-yard mark. He closed his career with 3,078 yards.

"He's a champion. I wish I had him for four more years," head coach Matt Jeter said after the game. "He's finally healthy. He's had bumps and bruises all season, but today he had a big day against the best defense in the conference."

Beem rushed just 19 times for 32 yards in the previous two games before carrying 32 times against the Kohawks. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry and had four rushes of 20 yards or more.

It took until the fourth quarter for Beem to pass 3,000 yards. On first-and-10 from the Storm 41, Beem rattled off a 14-yard run to reach the milestone. 

Beem earned honorable mention all-conference honors after running for 826 yards and three TDs.
