Ghalibaf, Jacobs named to all-tournament team

HOUSTON, Texas – At the conclusion of the First Responder's Tournament, Simpson College volleyball's Iman Ghalibaf and Jessica Jacobs were selected to the All-Tournament Team.

The Storm went 1-3 against stiff competition at the tournament. Simpson split a pair of games with Schreiner and lost No. 25 Mary Hardin-Baylor and host St. Thomas.

Ghalibaf finished the weekend with 80 digs across 16 sets for an average of five per set. On Saturday alone, the libero averaged 5.67 per set to help Simpson split the day. Along with her work on the backline, she added 19 assists, a kill and an ace at the tournament.

Jacobs tallied 59 kills, 33 digs, seven assists, six aces, and three total blocks over the span of Simpson's four games. She registered a double-double of 18 kills and 13 digs in the Storm's first game with Schreiner and recorded her first 20-kill performance of the season in the second matchup with the Mountaineers.

Simpson (4-4) opens its 2022 conference schedule on Wednesday evening at Neb. Wesleyan. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Lincoln.
