Jacobs named A-R-C Player of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Senior Jessica Jacobs earned the first American Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor of the 2022 volleyball season on Tuesday.

Jacobs led the league with 50 kills while hitting .304 across four games. Her efforts helped the Simpson College volleyball team open the season with three straight wins before a loss to No. 16 UW-Whitewater.

The Janesville, Iowa native recorded double-digit kills in each of the first three games at the Wisconsin Blast with her best performance coming in a 3-1 win over Beloit with 17 kills and a .520 attacking percentage. She compiled 16 digs, nine aces, five blocks and three assists over the weekend.

The Storm will return to the court on Friday and Saturday in Houston, Texas. Simpson will face St. Thomas and Schreiner on day one of the First Responder's Tournament and Schreiner and Mary Hardin-Baylor on day two.
