Streicher wins third career individual title

WATERLOO, Iowa - Madeline Streicher won her third career individual title, winning by three strokes at the Battle of Waterloo, playing two different courses over the two-day tourney.

Streicher led by four strokes after day one by firing an 82, the lowest in either round by any competitor. Streicher then carded an 86 on day two, holding off Hawkeye's Chase Doland by three strokes. With the win, this is the first title for Streicher this season. The sophomore previously took home individual titles last season at Iowa Wesleyan and the Storm's home event, the Simpson Invitational.

As a team, the Storm claimed second, shooting a two-day total of 725. The squad was leading after day one, but fell just shy to North Iowa Area CC, who shot a 719.

The Storm had a pair of golfers crack the top 10, with Miranda Deppe and Taylor Elam finishing together in 10th place with a two-day total of 185. Deppe also shot her career-best round at Simpson with an 86 on day one of the tourney.

Joann Martin carded a 94 on both days to tie for 13th, while Madison Wardlow rounded out the scoring lineup for Simpson, finishing in 16th. Kristen Roe also took 18th while playing as an individual.

The team will wrap up its 2022-23 campaign with the hosting of the Storm Spring Invite at the Indianola Country Club next Wednesday.
