Both golf squads compete at Iowa Central

FORT DODGE, Iowa - Both the Simpson men and women's golf teams competed at the Iowa Central Spring Invite, including the men's team making its debut in 2023.

Each team took sixth place, with Madeline Streicher earning the highest individual placing on either side, tying for 13th in the women's tournament. Streicher shot rounds of 92 and 85 for a two-day total of 177.

The men were led by Blake Perrin, who tied for 19th after firing back-to-back rounds of 77. Jack Wahman shot a 79 on day one, while Garin Grinstead carded a 78 on day two, representing the other two Storm golfers to break the 80-stroke mark in a round for the tournament. Carson Crile, playing as an individual, also shot a season-low round of 85 on day one.

Up Next

The women are back in action next Friday for the Battle of Waterloo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, while the men travel to Lincoln, Neb. for the Nebraska Wesleyan invite, beginning next Sunday.
