Simpson faces Greenville on the road

GREENVILLE, Ill. – Michelangelo Villani won his second career all-around title, Brian Rollison was victorious on rings for the second time this season, and the Simpson College men's gymnastics team recorded a 362.800 against Greenville on Saturday.

The Storm exceeded 68 points on vault for the third time this season and broke their parallel bars record previously set during the 2024 season opener.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Michelangelo Villani won his second career all-around title with a score of 71.350. His highest score of the day was a 13.500 on vault. He also earned a 12.750 on floor and 12.150 on parallel bars, both season highs.
  • Brian Rollison claimed first on rings for the second time this season, with both event wins coming against Greenville. He earned a 13.050 for his routine.
  • Simpson set a new program record on parallel bars much thanks to career-high marks from Sammy Shafransky (12.400) and Jake Sweeten (12.400). Alex Catchpole scored a team-best 13.050, Villani tied his season high (12.150) and Rollison received a 12.050 in his first time competing in the event.

The Storm travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. on March 16 for their final dual of the season against Air Force.
