Golf teams compete in Simpson Invitational

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson College men's and women's golf teams hosted their spring invitational at the Indianola Country Club on Wednesday. The men ended sixth and the women did not receive a team score while closing out their season.

In her final collegiate match, senior Emily Jansen tied a season-low 84 to tie for eighth to lead the women. Freshman Sydney Stephenson grabbed a top-15 performance with a 95 and Hannah Mulligan capped off her freshman slate with a 114.

On the men's side, senior Konner Johnson and sophomore Reed Worth both fired an 82 to tie in 13th. Worth was competing in his first event for the Storm.

Freshman Brendan Bayeur (93), freshman Brady Berkey (94), sophomore Brett Jansen (95), junior Lucas Hemphill (96) and freshman Isaac Roe (96) were all within three strokes off each other to round out the scoring for Simpson.

Up Next
The men end their season next weekend in the three-day American Rivers Conference Championships. Day one begins Thursday at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
