
Worth, Schaben represent Simpson on all-conference team
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Seniors Reed Worth and Wyatt Schaben represented Simpson on the 2022 All-American Rivers Conference Football Team, as voted on by the league's coaches.
Both Worth and Schaben were conference leaders at their respective positions. Worth, a second team pick, was the only receiver in the league to surpass 1,000 receiving yards this season and hauled in 13 touchdown catches to top the A-R-C in receiving scores as well. Schaben was an honorable mention selection after leading the conference in tackles for the second-straight season. He was two tackles shy of hitting the century mark.
Reed Worth, Second Team
- Senior wide receiver from Monroe, Iowa
- Led the conference in overall receiving yards (1157), touchdown catches (13) and yards per game (115.7)
- Also topped the A-R-C with 924 yards (115.5/game) and 10 touchdowns during league play
- Surpassed 100 receiving yards five times on his way to the third-highest season total in program history
- Amassed a career-high 239 yards against Loras, the highest single game total in the league this season
- Posted five games with multiple scores, including four consecutive between Oct. 8-Oct. 29
Wyatt Schaben, Honorable Mention
- Senior linebacker from Harlan, Iowa
- Earned his second-career honorable mention recognition
- Led the conference with 98 tackles overall and 83 tackles in A-R-C action
- Registered 50 solo stops (2nd A-R-C) and 48 assists (3rd A-R-C)
- Recorded a career-high 20 tackles against Luther, the highest single game total in the league this season
- Had two interceptions, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a sack
