Taylor earns Academic All-American Status

AUSTIN, Texas -- Jenna Taylor continues to receive recognition off the court this year as she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Basketball Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA).

The junior was placed on the second team and is the first Simpson women's basketball player to be named to this list since 2013, when Kate Nielsen was tabbed a first team selection. She is the only member from the A-R-C to receive this achievement this season.

Taylor was previously placed on the American Rivers All-Conference First Team for her efforts for the Storm this season. The Creston, Iowa product paced the team with 18.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest, while she was second and third, respectively, in both categories in the conference.

In the classroom, Taylor holds a 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in accounting and economics and finance. She is one of five women out of 15 total to hold a perfect GPA. The 15 student-athletes combine to have a 3.88 GPA.

Conor Riordan, of the men's basketball team, joins Taylor as an Academic All-American selection as well. This is the first time both the men's and women's basketball teams have had an Academic All-American recipient in the same year.
