Taylor receives CoSIDA Academic All-District selection

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Jenna Taylor was placed on the Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 First Team, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America for her performance on the court and in the classroom this season.

Taylor was one of six student-athletes named to District 8 among 21 states and Canada for her performance in both areas.

The Creston, Iowa native showcases a 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in accounting and economics; finance. Taylor averaged 18.0 points 7.7 rebounds per outing for 2018-19. She tallied career highs in points, field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, rebounds and played 28.2 minutes per contest.

Taylor was honored for the award with Conor Riordan of the men's basketball team. The duo increases Simpson's total number of CoSIDA All-District awards to nine for the 2018-19 year.

To be nominated for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have achieved sophomore status and be enrolled for a full year at their current institution and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions as a key contributor during the current season.

Student-athletes are nominated for the award by their institution's Sports Information Department and voted on by CoSIDA members from around the nation.
