Taylor named A-R-C Female Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- For the third time this season, Simpson's Jenna Taylor is the American Rivers Conference Female Athlete and Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The senior forward earned the award for the period ending Sunday, Dec. 16, the league office announced Tuesday. She also earned the awards back-to-back weeks, on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.

Taylor's three player of the week awards are the most in a season by a Simpson player since All-American Kate Nielsen earned the honor seven times during the 2012-13 season.

• Scored 22 points on 9-for-14 shooting in the Storm's 86-69 win over Concordia-Moorhead on Dec. 15
• Went 4-for-6 from 3-point range and grabbed five rebounds
• Helped Simpson improve to 7-1 on the season
• Has now reached double figures in 11 straight games dating back to last season
• Leads the league in field goal percentage (55.7) and ranks second in scoring (20.9)
