Storm add four non-conference games to slate

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson softball team has added four non-conference games to its 2018 schedule to make up for lost games at the beginning of the season. Simpson will play a doubleheader at Crown on Friday, April 13 and will host Bethany Lutheran in a doubleheader on Sunday, April 22.

Simpson lost its first four games of the season due to rain in Dallas, Texas. The Storm were scheduled to play a doubleheader with Dallas on Feb. 24 and Texas Wesleyan on Feb. 25.

The Crown doubleheader is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. in St. Bonifacius, Minn. Simpson is 4-0 all-time against the Storm with the last meeting coming in 2008. The Bethany Lutheran doubleheader is set to get underway at 1 p.m. The teams have never met on the softball diamond.

The Storm returned to Iowa with a 14-4 record after going 3-1 at the North Park Invitational in Chicago over the weekend. Simpson travels to Grinnell on Tuesday, March 27 before opening Iowa Conference play Saturday, March 31 at home against Buena Vista.
