Storm add two more shutouts, move to 4-0

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Four pitchers combined to toss a pair of shutouts and the Simpson softball team remained perfect on the young season with a 4-0 win over Pitt.-Greensburg and a 13-0 win over Mitchell on Sunday at the PFX Spring Games.

Simpson's pitching staff maintains a perfect 0.00 ERA as the Storm have outscored opponents 50-0 through the first four games.

Emily Bell followed up Saturday's no-hitter with a 10-strikeout effort in six innings of work. Annie Stolte drove in the game's first run on with a triple in the bottom of the first and then scored on a base hit by Madison Rasmusson. Stolte added a second RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the second and Ashley Allen and Madi Bennett each went 2-for-3 to lead the offense.

Bell allowed three hits and walked one. Kelli Hanson closed the game out in the seventh, allowing one hit.

Simpson 13, Mitchell 0 (5 innings)
Rasmusson and Mary Leopold combined to one-hit Mitchell and Rasmusson helped out her cause with three RBIs in the Storm's third run-ruled contest in four games. Rasmusson allowed one hit and struck out five in three innings of work and Mary Leopold tossed two innings of no-hit ball to close the game.

Ashley Allen added three RBIs as she and Taylor Davis each went 2-for-3. Davis doubled twice.
