Storm compete against A-R-C foes in triangular meet

PELLA, Iowa -- The Simpson College men's and women's track and field squads competed against Central and Nebraska Wesleyan in a triangular in Pella on Friday.

The Storm men won three events, while capturing an additional 15 top-five performances. On the women's side, Simpson tallied seven top-five results.

Ryan Courtney recorded first in the 1,500 meters with a personal-best 4:01.56. Louden Foster finished top of the pack in the 3,000 meters, two places before Courtney. The 4x100-meter relay of Steven Cruz-Castro, Craig Garrison, Ulysses Patterson and Max Cleveland crossed the finish in 42.74 for first.

Jamie Glanz captured first in the high jump wih a height of 1.48 meters. The senior also finished third in the 100-meter hurdles for Simpson. Sophie Hall recorded third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Audrey Arnold leaped to third in the long jump with a distance of 4.97 meters.

Cleveland sprinted to second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.21. Shane Breheny and Marc Medici ended fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Ulysses Patterson (javelin) and Mason Spree (hammer throw) both tallied third. Spree had a personal-best distance of 39.10 meters in the discus. Alexis Crozier ended fourth in the hammer throw with a career-best 27.69 meters.

The Storm compete in the Loras Twilight on May 7 for the final tuneup before the American Rivers Conference Championships the following weekend.
