Storm close indoor season at Division III Elite Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Simpson College men's and women's track and field teams closed out the indoor season on Saturday at the Division III Elite Championships, hosted by Wartburg.

The Storm had four student-athletes competing on the final day of competition as the men ended 12th out of 29 teams and the women did not receive a team score.

Spencer Moon tallied the best individual performance at the championships with a fourth-place finish in the 3,000 meters. His time of 8:37.06 was his second fastest this season.

Brenden Godbout achieved fifth in the pentathlon with a score of 2,946 points. A third-place result in the 60-meter hurdles and another top-five performance in the long jump helped the freshman close out his indoor campaign.

After qualifying for the 60-meter hurdles final on Friday, Audrey Arnold collected eighth place with a time of 9.45 seconds. Carter Berkey finished eighth in the long jump.
