Trio lead Storm track and field squads

LINCOLN, Neb. -- In the final tune-up before the American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships next weekend, the Simpson College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Nebraska Wesleyan Triangular on Saturday.

Audrey Arnold, James Murray and Jamie Glanz collected first-place finishes to lead a small Storm squad against the Prairie Wolves and Coe.

Arnold tallied first in the 200-meters, 55-meter hurdles and long jump events for three-top placings. Murray ran to first in the 800-meters (1:59.03), while Glanz (1.50 meters) soared to gold in the high jump. Both marks are season bests for the duo. Glanz also took third in the shot put, followed by teammate Alexis Crozier in fourth.

Steven Cruz-Castro collected second in the 400-meters with a time of 52.77. Mason Spree paced the field events for Simpson with a second-place nod in the weight throw and third-place effort in shot put.

In the hurdles, Max Cleveland just missed the top of the podium by ending second with a time of 7.77 for season best.

Up Next
The women kickoff the A-R-C Championships next Saturday, March 6 and the men follow on Sunday. The championships will be held in Waverly at Wartburg College.
