Jacobson scores twice in Storm win

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Cody Jacobson turned in his first multi-goal performance as the Simpson men's soccer team got a much needed, 2-0 win at Augustana on Wednesday.

Jacobson put the Storm (5-7-1) ahead with a goal in the 27th minute and added an insurance tally in the 85th min. The win snapped a frustrating four-game losing streak, during which three of four losses came either in overtime or the final 65 seconds of regulation.

Collin Hemann assisted on the first goal and Garrett Pochop and Colin Robinson helped on the second. Simpson snapped a two-game losing streak in the series and achieved the largest margin of victory since the first meeting between the two teams in 1995.

Zach McEntee earned his fourth career shutout, while Matt Hesch made five saves for the Vikings (3-9-1).
