Strong second-half pushes Storm past Concordia

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson men's soccer team is developing a flair for the dramatic.

Tyler Neumann headed in the game-winner in the 80th minute and Simpson got two, second-half goals in a 2-1 win over Concordia-Moorhead.

For the second time in three games this season, the Storm (3-0) conceded the first goal before coming back to win. Grinnell got on the board first in Simpson's season-opener, a 2-1, double-overtime win.

Neumann's header came on the back end of a perfect corner kick by Cody Jacobson. It was one of 14 corners for the Storm, who held a 14-0 advantage and out-shot Concordia 20-9 for the game and 11-4 for the second half.

Sage Thoronbrugh put Concordia on the board in the 39th minute, converting on a set piece just outside the 18-yard box.

Garrett Pochop provided the equalizer, gathering a touch from Josh Harry in the box to tie it up in the 66th minute.

Austin Schafer earned the win in goal, making two saves in the final 45 minutes.
