ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Garrett Pochop and Marcus Varnum found the back of the net and the Simpson men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw with Bethel on Saturday.
Ryan Ness answered each Simpson goal, resulting in the second overtime contest of the season for the Storm (3-0-1).
Pochop scored his third goal in as many games, opening the scoring in the 11th minute. Ness Answered in the 16th minute before Varnum took an assist from Collin Hemann to give Simpson a 2-1 lead in the 32nd minute.
Ness came up with another equalizer for the Royals (1-3-1), tying the score 2-2 less than seven minutes later.
Neither team scored in the second half and each team managed one shot in each overtime period before settling for the draw. Zach McEntee had two saves and Jakob Bartels made two for Bethel.
