Castile lands on D3baseball.com Team of the Week

INDIANOLA, Iowa – A day after being named the American Rivers Conference Pitcher of the Week, Trey Castile has secured a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Coming within one out of a complete game, Castile racked up a career-high 15 strikeouts in a 7-0 victory over Central last Friday at McBride Field. He surrendered just one hit and three walks on his way to his sixth win of the year.

Castile, who recently became the program's all-time strikeout leader, is the third Simpson baseball player to appear on D3baseball.com's weekly team since the organization started recognizing top performers in 2012. He joins Truman Schmitt (3/19/2019) and Noah Sacco (3/23/2021).

The Storm are set to face first-place Coe in another three-game road series this weekend.
