Simpson drops Monday morning game to Suffolk

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Simpson College baseball team could not climb out of an early hole and fell 10-4 to Suffolk on Monday morning in Florida.

Suffolk (5-2) plated five runs on two hits and two errors in the top of the second inning and added a sixth run in the third after Zach Fuller hit a two-run double to cut the lead to three.

Nate Cagley hit a leadoff triple in the fourth and scored on a base hit from Kasey Carter, but the Storm (6-3) were unable to do more damage in the frame. Both teams traded a sacrifice fly between the seventh and eighth innings, and the Rams added three insurance runs in the ninth.
