Storm swimming falls to Quincy in two narrow battles

QUINCY, Ill. - The Simpson men's and women's swimming and diving teams put in good performances against Quincy, but came up narrowly short on both sides.

The Storm women were led by Kate Minette. Minette won the 50 Meter Freestyle once again, was part of the winning 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team, and took second in the 100 Meter Freestyle. Elsewhere, Maude Steinbeck won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in a time of 1:22.21. Emma Haynes continued the fine start to her Storm career by capturing the 200 Yard Breaststroke in a time of 2:54.33.

Jay Ceperley took first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle, going under two minutes with a time of 1:58.67. Ceperley was joined by his teammates Adrell Mulgrew-Truitt, Christopher Olds, and Gabe Bruns to capture the Men's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, winning in a time of 3:48.27. Nathan Parkins went sub-three in the 200 Yard Breaststroke to claim a victory in 2:59.13.
