With a 1-0 win over Luther Friday afternoon, the fifth-seeded Simpson women's soccer team knocked off the tournament's top seed and became the lowest seed to advance to the tournament final.
Nicole Dillenburg provided all the scoring Simpson needed, converting an unassisted goal with only 11 seconds remaining in the first half. The defense held on from there, as goalkeeper Megan Petersen needed only one save on the day as the Storm advance to the championship for the first time since 2006.
Simpson will face No. 2 Dubuque at 4 p.m. at the Rock Bowl in Dubuque.
