McChesney lands on All-A-R-C Wrestling Team

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- After earning the first All-America honor in 15 years for Simpson College wrestling, junior Dylan McChesney was named to the All-American Rivers Conference Wrestling Team, the league announced Wednesday.

McChesney powered his way through the 125-pound bracket at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Championships last month to charter a fifth-place result. He went 6-2 at the championships and won via fall four times to finish third in his weight class among A-R-C grapplers.

The Northglen, Colorado native finished 13-4 this season and went 6-2 against A-R-C competition en route to his second-straight all-conference honor. McChesney is the first wrestler to land on an all-conference squad twice since the league began naming a team in 2012-13.

All major awards were voted on by the league's head coaches. In a year where NCAA Championships are held, the 30-member all-conference team is composed of the top three A-R-C place-winners at the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional Championships. Due to the COVID-altered postseason, this year's 30-member All-Conference team is made up of the top three A-R-C place-winners at the NWCA National Championships.
