Simpson hosts final triangular this Saturday

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson College wrestling team will compete against its final two American Rivers Conference opponents on Saturday when Central and Luther visit town for a triangular.

The Dutch (3-1, 3-1 A-R-C) and Norse (2-4, 2-4 A-R-C) kick things off with a dual at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Storm taking on Luther at 3 p.m. The afternoon ends with a 4:30 p.m. dual between Simpson and Central.

The Storm lost a tough battle at home last night in a 32-16 contest to Cornell. Dylan McChesney (125), Robert Silva (157), Dalton Cockman (165) and Colton Kinnison (285) all won their bouts.

SIMPSON ATTENDANCE POLICY
At this time, the general public, faculty, staff and students will not be allowed to attend home contests inside Cowles Fieldhouse. Student-athletes and coaches from both teams will be permitted two spectators that can attend.

ABOUT THE DUTCH
Central comes into the triangular with 3-1 overall and league records ... the Dutch opened the season with three-straight victories coming against Nebraska Wesleyan (45-4), Dubuque (31-9) and Buena Vista (34-6) before falling to No. 2 Wartburg (39-0) last weekend ... Central has three wrestlers ranked by the National Wrestling Coaches Association; Rob Areyano (157) is eighth, and Shandon Akeo (133) and Griffin McBride (184) are both ninth.

ABOUT THE NORSE
Luther is on a two-match losing skid after dropping both contests last weekend against No. 14 Coe and Dubuque ... the Norse have two additional losses coming to a pair of ranked programs, No. 2 Wartburg and No. 9 Loras, but entered the win column with victories over Buena Vista and Nebraska Wesleyan ... Austin Spacht (125) paces the team with four pins, while senior Ira Kuehn has four victories in the 184-pound division.

LAST TIME OUT
The Storm were handed a 32-16 loss to Cornell on Thursday for the team's only nonconference battle of the season ... Simpson won four weight classes; Dylan McChesney (125), Robert Silva (157), Dalton Cockman (165) and Colton Kinnison (285) ... McChesney started the match with a quick pin in 1:02 for his sixth victory of the season and third fall during his junior slate ... Silva and Cockman provided back-to-back wins after Silva won by major decision and Cockman tallied a slim 3-1 triumph ... Kinnison ended the match with a 3-1 victory at heavyweight for his third win of the season.
