Simpson Invitational set for Wednesday at Indianola Country Club

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- The Simpson College men's and women's golf teams will host its spring invitational at the Indianola Country Club on Wednesday.

Spectators are allowed to attend the match on Wednesday, but are expected to social distance and wear masks.

Teams from Central College, Clarke University, Coe College, Graceland University, Grinnell College and Iowa Wesleyan University will join the Storm on the course to begin the event at 10 a.m.

In the fall, the women finished fifth and the men collected ninth at the Simpson Invitational. Sydney Stephenson tied for 25th, and Emily Jansen and Averi Peck tied for 27th. On the men's side, Konner Johnson fired an 83 to pace the squad.

This concludes the women's season and the men will take part in the American Rivers Conference Championships next weekend. Action will begin Thursday, April 29 and run through Saturday, May 1 at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
