Simpson women’s golf resumes action this fall
INDIANOLA, Iowa -- After the 2019-20 spring season was cancelled for the Simpson women's golf team, the Storm will resume play in early September as head coach Larry Shoop announced the 2020-21 fall schedule.
Simpson finished first at two events last season, the Graceland Invitational and the Simpson Invitational. The triumphs were the first for the program since the Storm garnered top honors at the Central Invitational on Sept. 7, 2013. At the 2019 American Rivers Conference Championship, Simpson ended sixth as Hannah Gordon tallied a runner-up performance to lead the Storm.
Simpson will begin its fall campaign on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Norse Classic in Dike, Iowa, which goes through Sunday at the Fox Ridge Golf Course.
Competition resumes the following weekend at the Wartburg Invitational from Sept. 12-13 at the Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa. The Storm take part in the Graceland Invitational on Sept. 19 for the one-day event in Lamoni, Iowa.
On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Simpson is set to host its own invitational at the Indianola Country Club for the team's only action on home soil in the fall. The Storm will travel to Storm Lake, Iowa for the Buena Vista Invitational from Sept. 25-26.
The A-R-C Championship will enter its second year with the three-round format to close out the fall for Simpson. Action will take place at the Ames Country Club from Oct. 10-12.
